Value Strategy

Core to the Austin Projects Group is the belief that all projects should create and/or enhance value in organizations, and that our job is to help organizations deliver that value.

To make sure we optimize our contribution we:

  1. Create a written statement delineating the value to be delivered on each engagement (in coordination with the client)
  2. Have all engaged resources read and commit (via signature) to deliver the targeted value
  3. Use the the targeted value as a home base for work decisions delegated by the client
  4. Continuously look for additional value to add
  5. Use value as a uniting force in our work

Value Awareness

Fundamental to our value delivery strategy is that notion that "to deliver value one must be aware of and understand the value". Although a simple concept, value has many shapes and forms. It is a concept that is difficult to pinpoint with precision. To help us focus, we break value down into three categories:
  1. Strategic Value
  2. Stakeholder Value
  3. Financial Value

When we produce our written value statements we specify these three areas of value. Upon completion, the value statement is communicated, committed to and we begin our drive to make the targeted value a reality. In addition to focusing on delivering the targeted value we look for opportunities to create additional value. Our regular mode is always be on the lookout for opportunities to create and deliver additional value to our customers.

Value Accountability

To us value is our home base. It keeps us aligned with our customer and it provides a baseline for evaluating our contribution. It unifies us, gives us clarity and provides a benchmark for decision making. We are committed to and accountable for delivering value to our customers.
